In addition, another $49.81 million in taxable sports wagering revenue was generated across the eight mobile/online licensees and three in-person licensees for September.

Plainridge is taxed on 48% of its gross gaming revenue. Of that amount, 82% is paid to local aid and 18% is allotted to the Race Horse Development Fund.

MGM Springfield and Encore Boston Harbor are taxed on 25% of gross gaming revenue.

That cash is allocated to several specific state funds as determined by the gaming statute.

To date, Massachusetts has collected over $1.5 billion in total taxes and assessments from the casino operations since the respective openings of each gaming facility.

To date, the state has collected approximately $60.26 million in total taxes and assessments from the sports wagering operations of licensed operators since sports wagering began in person on Jan. 31, 2023, and online on March 10, 2023.
